Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

I don't think she would be DQ'd for the beard, just wouldn't do well at shows (I don't think). But she is a beautiful bird. You could possibly get partridge babies from her. Do you know her background at all? Heck, I'd breed her back to blue partridge. Don't know where that beard color came from... Interesting. Maybe someone else will have more of an idea.

Thank you for the info

- I am not planning to show her anyway, her toes aren't super great, but I'm hoping to get some better-toed babies by crossing her with my good-toed boys. I have e-mailed the breeder about the color - and will share what I hear if it's something interesting.

We will be waiting to hear from you. She's a very nice bird.

Thank you for the reply. How can you tell a splash partridge? I don't think I've ever seen a photo of one.

I did find out recently about Frontline - after trying almost everything else for months. I put Frontline on all the chickens and within a week - no more mites!

cool
well sooner or later 2 blue partrdge are going make splsh partrdge this what im thingit would look like

Is splash partridge even possible genetically?

Any time you are working with the blue gene, a splash version is both possible and expected. Yes, I have had splash partridge. Not a look I care for or would show. Might go in the breeding pen if good enough in type and partridge markings. So far none have made it there.

Sonoran, I got this bird in trade for another bird and am going to use him in a blue partridge breeding pen. I had been told he came from a blue breeding and just found out it was blue/splash. What do you think of him and what about the blue/splash for breeding to partridge? He has such gorgeous type and such a wonderful disposition I feel that it's worth a shot... I just can't bring myself to trim his tail and that would be a must... He is pure Bubba butt.

Please excuse his wing position. I had just put him out and he was right next to the girls and doing his dance. His wings are generally very tight.

Thanks everyone... He does have one beautiful tush!! I just love this guy and hope to make some awesome blue partis with him and one of my Res.Ch.FL girls.. They have pretty nice tushies too. I would really like Sonoran's input.
