All these pics drove me out to the run today to see if I could get some too. Wind gusts of 30mph are not condusive to great photography or chook cooperation!

Any way, here are a couple..

"Bottoms Up!" Just thought they all looked like the fall leaves!

Here is a pic of the now, dark blue boy, who was born with chipmunk stripes. I can see more coming in now, better with the camera than with my naked eye. Seems the gold/red is coming in around the eyes, wingbow, and hackles. He is standing rather oddly like he was getting ready to take off, so his wing looks droopy, it isn't. Now, pardon my newbie ignorance here, but is he Non-bearded, or just has a very minimal type of beard and lack of crest/poof?? He is the only one out of the 14 that looks like this. And the only one who can really see!

Time sure does fly! They used to be so flighty when I walked in their run, now they all run to me, and I have to watch where I step!

I hope I can sit on my hands and keep my promise to myself; "no more hatching till spring!!"

Any input on "BP's" beard, or lack of??

They do mellow out as they get older and become such sweeties! Yes, you will now always have to take baby steps in the run! I have one that demands to be held at bedtime each night and another that attempts to try to perch on my head for the night! LOL Do you know if the breeder you got them from also had non-bearded? It could be either I guess but I also had some late bloomers too where it filled in more later but never quite like some of the others. None of the other are pecking at it are they? Two of my boys are slowly growing theirs back after fighting with another roo.

No, don't think there is any pecking going on. His beard has looked like this from the get go. BP and a little Buff pullet are the only ones you can see the eyes on, but she has a definate beard. The breeder claimed to have all bearded birds, so I'm thinking his is just lacking? Maybe it will come in with his coloring??
