Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

I am trying to work on the color. Need more red in the heads right Pennie??
This male (Billy) has a lot of red in his streamers so hopefully it helps.

I should explain myself better

I like your hens color bc she is dark. I find as time goes on with my partridge pen, if I do not introduce a nice dark hen every now and then my pens offspring is getting too orangey and lite. From a Show propsect point of view she is too dark. But take her to a great typey mid color or Lighter male and oOhlaa laah!!

IMO there are some great breeders out there with great type birds but the color now needs improvement. The only way to get that I believe is to mix in some nice dark girls such as yours and the Avatar pic Bat Cave has. Her hen has two great things so far that I can see going for her. Dark color and great type

Yes, there is an SOP for all the recoginzed colors. Are you a member of the Silkie Club?? My Patridge cockerel is just getting in some chestnut head coloring, I am patiently waiting for the darker color to come into his breast! At almost 6 months, he has a way to go, so not worried yet.

Yes, there is an SOP for all the recognized colors. Are you a member of the Silkie Club?? My Patridge cockerel is just getting in some chestnut head coloring, I am patiently waiting for the darker color to come into his breast! At almost 6 months, he has a way to go, so not worried yet.

But there are many varieties that people are working on that do not have SOP's. Blue partridge, paints, cuckoo, salmon, show girls are just to name a few that are not recognized and therefore have no SOP. They have to be shown in the AOV category and it is then up to the judges desecration as to what is what. There are many people working on getting these varieties recognized and then it is up to the board of the APA, I believe that makes the final decision on what is what.

Yes, I only replied to the "recognized" colors in the SOP. I can see the Salmons and Greys showing up here soon! Love these colors, and wish the Greys, who are a recongnized color, would be shown and pictured more! The Salmon color would keep me happy without getting into the Faverolles!

in front one of the growing up partridge - 7.5 weeks old in pictures .... this is my grow out pen and yes I have some oddballs in there.

the one in the middle is a blue partridge I'm figuring, very pale base color, beautiful tan, tawny, and pale blue partridge pattern.
