Party hat brooder fix

Once the chicks began to jump on their feeder and water and poop into the troughs I tried taping and upright pencil to the top. They were undaunted and even knocked over the waterer. But this party hat topper works! I know, these are just the generic containers I bought with the chicks, next

time I’m doing the upgrades!

Cool idea, adds color too... I might have to try as mine are also jumping on top of the feeder, water and anything up high they can get too.

Thanks! They are a little over 3 weeks and now also need a screen top since they can get up to the brooder rim without using the containers as launch pads.
On this site there are some great no spill ideas, such as a mini version of the nipple waterer using a large soda bottle and nipples, and a Folgers container with small elbow pipes inserted through cutouts for feeding so the chick has to tuck their head inside and can’t scratch it out or poop in it.
These are tiny versions of how I want to do the coop, so it makes sense to get them used to it early.
