Pasty butt and feather loss?

i have some week old chicks which 2 have come down with some nasty pasty butt i used a warm cotton ball and olive oil to get it off and put some vaseline to try and stop it from happening again one is losing its feathers near her butt is this association with me cleaning her? None of the other chicks seem to be having this problem it would be great if you all could suggest to me what i should do to fix this thank you (the feather loss goes all the way down to under her legs)

Have you been rubbing a little roughly on her feathers? To fix pasted butt try to just clean the vent and be gentle with the fluff all around it.

Okay thank you, so will she get the fluff back? Or should i be worried

Down that has come out while not regrow with new chick fuzz, no, but will be replaced as the chick feathers in with appropriate feather type (in this case butt fluff)
