Pasty butt, How to get them to eat the yogart?

Does it matter what kind of yogurt you use?

we had only one chick with the pasty butt. she had it kinda bad I think, but after a few days of cleaning and feeding yogart and sand it went away. being we did feed yogart, I think the sand did the trick. we did have trouble getting them to eat the yogart. we mixed it with some of their food and found that giving them only that to eat did the trick. when they get hungry, they eat. but again I think the sand did the job. we got some from our neighbor. its just plain building sand. we did not do anything to the sand, just put it in their feeder and let them peck at it. our chicks are 1 week old today. hate you had to clean so many little butts.
