I'd just like to talk about a paycheck problem of mine.
See I work for a small business, who pays their employees through a company called "Paychex, Inc."
My boss, faxes our information to Paychex, who deliver us bi-weekly paychecks.

One week, Paychex screwed up, and cut us checks by the week instead of bi-weekly, so one payday we received 2 separate checks. No big deal really, EXCEPT that they did not pay me for overtime on one of the checks.
I had a talk with my boss (the one who talks to Paychex) and we agreed that the amount due was $18 and she said it would be on the next check.
Next check comes out, nothing.
Nor the next one.
I casually mention it one day and she didn't say anything. I might have expected her to say something along the lines of "well bring in your check stubs and we can get to the bottom of this" but she didn't say anything.
I KNOW she will just blame it off on Paychex's people, and that is probably the correct place to lay the blame, but she sure isn't being very helpful about getting me paid.

So this weekend I have gathered every check stub from them for the entire length of my employment. I'm going to call the owner, my boss's boss, and have him look at them, because his subordinate isn't being very helpful.
I really wish they would fire Paychex completely

Still, it's my money

I hate it when that happens. $20 is still $20.

Now you have that commercial song stuck in my head

"It's my money and I need it NOW!

I agree. Even if it is $5 it is your money. I think of it this way, if they cheat every employee out of $18 that really adds up for them. When a store over charges me a few dollars it may not seem like a big deal but when you think about it that way, it is wrong to let them get away with it. You go girl!!

We own a small business, and I can't believe they haven't corrected that for you. That's just silly! And, JG Wentworth will drive anyone mad, lol. I knew someone who went this route on an annuity or something like that and let's just say that ol' JG has really got this figured out, lol.

Anyway, you earned it so I don't see what the problem is.

Its not just your money... its your time....

that $20 was time away from your family, time you took away from them.... you did not donate your time

I had this same problem whan I was doing private home care and it was over stat time vs. straight time. I had worked for this man for many years and he never paid me for 1 1/2 for working christmas day boxing day or new years eve. I am a wimp, I needed the job more then the $20 i was out... but not last year.. I confronted him on it. He was not happy we ended up negotiating a settlement (i lost a boatload trust me) but i am no longer employed by that man.

its $20 now but in 5 years that $20 is $1000

Yes, it is your money, and you've worked hard for it! This happened to my hubby last year at this time. He works for the county, and they bought back a weeks worth of vacation time from him. It took them 6 WEEKS, to pay him, that's 3 pay checks! I hear you, yes I do. Its good you have your pay stubs, now tell them to get to the bottom of the problem, and PLEASE pay me! Best of luck, hope it happens for you soon.
