Eggs from DM Rippy arrived happy and healthy. OMG!!! Serious, serious extras.....Thank you so much! Packaged beautifully....lost two to USPS requisite soccer game. Sometimes I just can't figure out how to they manage it.

So this weeks hatch just finished. I'm about to cleans and candle so I can put the next batch into lockdown.

I had 3 wheaten Ams from donna hatch but only one has made it

the fourth quit a few days ago and the Lav am never pipped but was fully formed. Out of 60 various that went into lockdown I have 52 chicks

You had a good hatch it sounds like.

I just want to understand, 4 Wheatens made it to lockdown, 3 hatched but only 1 lived? What happened? I wish I knew why the develop but don't hatch..... that just sucks......

I think it was partially my fault. The temp was starting to climb I guess because of all the little bodies. I didn't put them upright like everyone else because their air cells seemed pretty solid. I wound up helping three a little because they were starting to get shrink wrapped from the loss of humidity. I think I just helped two a little too much. I wish I had just left them alone but I panicked a little. I know better. Anyway the one that is out is super healthy and beautiful

All of the Marans from you that made it to lockdown hatched. I have to double check but I think I have five blue and four black no splash.

Oh you may know this. There's a term that's hiding in the basement of my brain that refers to the brown/red down in the blacks. It's driving me crazy because I can't think of it. One of them is crazy bronze/red like the whole chick. I know it's not desirable for breeding but they're so cute!

Do you not have more problems with splayed legs on that litter? I have thought about it but I would think that could be a problem with babies.... is it?

I use it and haven't had any issues at all. I love the pine pellet litter. I do put paper towels down for about the first two days just simply because that way I can make sure they have found the food because I sprinkle some on the paper towels to get them moving around and looking for food.

I have received eggs from Sutillman x 2 sets of GNH.... great packing and all were in great condition.

Chick among us - Sent eggs last week all were in great shape too with LOTS of extras THANKS!

Side swaps from Red Bush Farm and WVStuttin...... all were in good shape when I got them too 6 days after the post office MISS Directed them

but the semeras are developing nicely the last I looked. THANKS!

I got some GNH from 2002Roosterlane too in great shape when I got them too.

I have not candled due to the turner not working and it is throwing everything off balance to remove a tray of eggs. Maybe tomorrow and I will update everyone in a PM.

Just put more of your eggs in Donna. Oh and ProfTi you need to do a turkey dance! All 6/6 of the bourbons are in lockdown. I have the bator at 99.0 with 78% humidity so keep those fingers crossed!!!!!!
