PAYPAL/Hatching Eggs Swap FEEDBACK

  I know.  I was going to order some because they seem FAST to pack in but if the hatch rates are not good I am just going to continue with my bubble wrap method.

I used to cut three strips out on a sheet of bubble wrap and tape the side and ends but it took SO much longer and so much extra tape that I just cut a sheet in half now and do the burrito roll. Takes FAR less time and they stand on their own and so far seems to be pretty decent. I had an almost 100% hatch from a batch I sent to BHep. I think it was like 26/28 hatched. Something around there. So 90-93%. Not too shabby! obviously they're not always that great but you're always at the mercy of the post office

None arrived cracked or broken from anyone!

This is how my current eggs arrived. 14 bantam polish eggs, none were cracked, no broken air cells, and 11/14 developing

Each egg was bubble wrapped. It was a bit nerve wracking making sure I found all the eggs

With the foam I am hit and miss, I've had good hatches and bad. I'm gonna try the one above and see how those eggs make it from here.

Received my Button Quail eggs from smfildes today. Yay!!!

. They were beautifully packed and she generously sent many extras and helpful instructions

. None were cracked or broken, that is until I attempted to open Pre-coffee this morning and I dropped one in the process...I almost cried

...I washed and saved the egg and put it w/my other blown eggs on the counter as it was so pretty. I am over the moon as I have wanted these for a while. Thanks soooooo much Sharon!!!

I should have posted this yesterday, but I was wiped out. Got my pretty little dozen choc bantam orpington eggs from Madamwlf, all perfect. Even the outside box was perfect - maybe the holiday got to the postal workers and they took pity!

As they sat for a day in the local office, I popped them into the incubator last night, without waiting longer.

I really appreciate the box-inside-a-box thing, plus the special foam pocket holders, plus the foil wrapping! These guys look to have a decent chance!

Ok so I didn't get such a great hatch

crfarm-claimed 12 sent 14-8 developed only 3 hatched-partly my fault partly the incubators fault

DMRippy- claimed 12 sent 14-12 developed 7 hatched-the 8 one that would have hatched had zipped so fast in the night it went to far and suffocated itself

again all the losses on this one except for the suffocated one are my fault.

Chicken junkies-bought 12 sent 15- only 4 developed 2 hatched-the two that died, died before lockdown

Little Ameraucana Mom- claimed 6 sent 7- 3 developed 1 hatched again my fault

I put humidity up I think too early plus I also put the humidity up waaay too high. I took a chick out because it was hatched 24 hrs before anyone else so I was paranoid I would mess everything up and shrinkwrap everyone. So I apparently went the other way and messed up with TOO mUCH humidity and drowned everybody. I have a second batch hatching tonight so hopefully this goes better. I have to say the one Welsummer that did hatch was FAST!! It pipped and zipped all in less than an hour!!! I had left to pick up my kids at 2:30 and nothing, we got back home 3 and it was hatched.

ETA I think at least 2 more of crfarms and all of DMRippy's and all of Little Am Mom's eggs would have hatched had it not been for my inexperience.

Received 6+ SLW eggs from Reesepoultry today. All arrived in great condition, packed tighter than Fort Knox.

Out of all the bad things that keep happening to shipped eggs, I had to take a moment to brag something major on Greeneacre. Carolyn sent me 8 eggs the first time and the PO broke 3. Out of the five that were left, EVERY SINGLE ONE is developing. Not only that, but she sent a second batch just to make sure I got some chicks after the PO broke those first 3 without me even asking her to and guess what, EVERY SINGLE ONE is developing again! I don't know what she does, but it is some sort of gift!
