Pea Eggs Scheduled to Hatch?

Why don't you all raise your own meal worms ? it is very easy.

I had a bag of feed get wet and couldn't figure out what i wanted to do with it so i put it in a garbage can and left it out in the rain, in a few weeks i had meal worms buy the thousands crawling around in the garbage can, i would turn the can on it's side let all the birds eart the loose grubs and turn the can back up when they were done, i did this every other day for a couple weeks till they ate all the worms.
I use rice bran to grow meal worms , mainly because decomposing grain stinks like pig poop when the grubs start hatching and you do not want to get it on your hands or anything else.

Zazouse,,how much time does it take to tending to them each day? I have enough chores each day and if I have to babysit worms 1/2 hr on top of pampering peas,,,I don't know if I can fit them in,but another thing is storing them in the freezer,,wifey would really,,,really appreciate that,,a bag of worms next to her green beans in the freezer

FBC - just make sure both bags are clearly marked! If they got mixed up you'd be in the doghouse for sure!

I can imagine lots of frost inside the bag and a bit of inattention combinine to make for one mad wifey.

I do not tend them except to drag whatever they are in , out into the rain every so often to get wet and give it a shake when i go by, believe me it is add water, cover with something like paper or mulch if ya want and wait till they start multiplying it don't take long, but use rice bran, it is cheaper and it does not smell like feed does, i just use that so i did not waist 16 bucks.

I heard some folks use plain old oatmeal to raise meal worms to, so i guess you can make small batches if you want to try it.
