This is BellaRooand his girls! He will be a year old on Jan 4. When I got him at 6-8 weeks,

I was told he is an Easter Egger. He is a momma’s boy, for sure. Question… Is his comb a Pea or Rose comb? It's quite big and I am getting conflicting information.
Thanks in advance.

PS… he lost his tail feathers back around Sept. It was really hot.

A Pingle comb, ok, never heard of that. Is there info/research on that somewhere? Is that an EE trait?
It's just a word I invented. It's a pea comb in a bird with one single comb gene, people typically call it a pea comb but I think it looks more like an intermediate between pea comb and single comb. EEs aren't a fixed breed so both single and pea combed alleles are common in the EE population. Therefore, pea combs, pingle combs, and single combs are common in EEs.

Gotcha! Ive been googling and haven't found anything on a pingle comb yet. Thank you for the explanation. He's my pretty boy regardless of the type of comb he has! Most people say he has a unique comb and ask me the type, so that's why I asked the experts. ☺️

Amer is correct and funny/silly!

I (personally) would call it a modified pea, since it clearly isn't a common pea comb.

As noted EE aren't technically a breed and don't have any standard of perfection and can come with any skin color, feather pattern, comb type, be bearded or non bearded, etc. Because of the lacking standards and variations that can be seen, they're fun to have in a flock and fun eye candy for the pasture as well! 🥰
