Hi All-
I know we are always curious what sex the peachicks are from the second they hatch. In 2016, I had the lucky opportunity to document in pictures, a male and female chick's development from hatching to adulthood. The happy accident was that by the time they were old enough to truly tell one was male and one female- I had a photo history of just the two of them - with the white(pied) feathers making it easy to differentiate them going all the way back to hatching. I have posted these pics before in previous threads, but thought I would give this it's own thread now to make it easier to find.
The chicks are pied, but there are enough of the important brown and wing feathers to watch the changes in barring patterns through the weeks of their growth- for comparison to regular IB chicks.
Here You Go....Watch the barring come and go on the sides, wings and tail of the chicks as they grow, knowing that..... (in these pictures)...
The MALE CHICK has two white shoulder feathers (epaulettes). From the very first picture, the male is the one with white shoulder feathers, later he gets a clear white feather in the center of his back. The Female has NO white on her back, just on her sides. Remember, these are pieds, so white will not be present on regular India Blues.

hello! I have two Indians blue peachicks who are around 2 months old. I haven’t been able to sex them yet. What are the tell tell signs of a male to a female? I will post pictures later!

Barring and feathers in their chests are some of the best ways for IB
These are my babies! I would appreciate any help identifying them. 😊 I can also provide more pictures if needed!
