Here is my last of the year.
it's a peachick that hatched without most of it's feathers.

That is sad to hear. One of the trade-offs of free-ranging is that they get to live a more natural and healthier life, but it does come at a cost.Unfortunately our one little pea chick has been snapped up by what i think to be a Tawny owl.
All the Peafowl sleep in this one tree and though i didn't think any thing of it at the time they all made noises at around 3 am which is unusual. The next morning i went to feed the Peachick and there was only the Peahen calling for her Peachick i suppose.
Even the other Peafowl were no where to be seen until around 5 pm later that day, which again is unusual. I walked around the meadow, land and gardens and couldn't see any of them so who knows where they actually went.
Really sad as he/she was just about to turn one month old today. RIP little one.
All boys sucks... hope you're wrong. Looks like my little Kojak is probably male, so I feel your pain.Pretty sure of my six chicks, five are boysI'm gonna have to sell some for sure
But, one little one made me laugh today. He started displaying. He was so silly with his little display, shaking his 'tail' and all.
He's missing lots of feathers, including his primary coverts. You must have run out of feathers by the end of the season. I bet it fills in in time.
