peacock as a indoor pet

I know that ducks are very messy, I can change the water of the birds.
I have a lot of time before taking the eggs and having the babies and I can think that with tranquility.
Ducks are not going to have a big water container, will be small and only for drink, they have a abandoned pool in the monastery that I'll take them there for a swim.
Tomorrow i'll calculate the m2 that have all the pens and know how many birds can take, the number of eggs it's not the same as the birds. And I give you photos of all the monastery to show you the acces where they could be many hours every day.
Thanks
Can't wait to see the photos, it sounds beautiful.
Ducks need water deep enough at all times to keep their nostrels clean and it also helps them eat as they are not like chickens or peas they have trouble swalloing dry foods and need water to aid in that also, that is one reason they are so messy and things get to smelling real fast.

Ducks poop in water, peas like clean water, so I would *not* keep ducks and peas in the same pen... So many diseases come to mind.

I will use a water trah like this:

More big than that, here the ducks can't mess the water and peacocks can drink a clean water. But if I have cleaning problems I'll separate them.

I can't let him alone in the pool because it's not mine, it's part a part of the monastery.
Geese haves the same needs like ducks? They need need the same water?
Tomorrow they are going to hatch my first gosling and they are going to stay with me at home. I preparate them a small porexpan container empty of water to swim when they are at home. and when we go to takea walk, go to the river, ponds or the pool.
Thanks

The Californian quail will be gone. Any quail really. Plus peafowl will probably kill them. Or at least mine tried when I experimented with one. The Californian quail are the most high strung that I have had, but even penned, I have them fly away. I had Bobwhites fly out of the top of an aviary, but they just wanted to be on the other side and they stayed free ranging. I have some peafowl in a mixed aviary with ducks. So does Shawn (destinduck) and it works well for us. But domestic ducks are different.

I don't know anything about geese, but I imagine that you will have the same problem with "taking them for a walk" as you would with peas.
If you take them for a walk to the river, pond, or pool, how will you keep them from flying away? How will you get them to come home with you?

Not trying to be negative, just realistic.

All the birds that are going to he pen, will be imprinted animals.
Partridges and pheasants are going to stay at the same place. Can't go away because it's a closed pen. Quails better stay at home, I can put them a cage where they can live.
Peafowls and ducks in the other place.
This are the photos of the pens and the monastery:

Here will stay the small birds like partridges and pheasants.

In this place will stay the peafowls and ducks.

You can see that it's a very big place, and can play anywere.
What do you think, there is place for everybody.

The birds will hatch in my house and they will stay a month minimum living with me because If I let him there alone, cats and other animals can eat him.
I'm not sure why you think the birds will be safe from animals after one month?

I think It's a good place to have birds because have a lo of space, peafowls can fly and go up in the trees at the day, and at the night can go to the shed to sleep.
You still don't explain how you are going to get all of these birds to go into these sheds at night...
I was thinking about the flying birds and that they might sleep on the trees. and I remembered that the pens have 2 big sheds that I can close them here when I'm not with them and open at the afternoon every day. It's about 3-4 hours that can go out, fly and take a walk in all the enclosure, that it's very big and I think that the birds won't go away without me.
Why won't they go away? Again, how will you get all of these birds into the shed at night?

Peafowls: I will take all the eggs my friend can lend me, I think about 4 to 8.
Red partridge: I'll take 24 eggs, because are the simbol of the field here in spain.
Common pheasant: I'll take 12 eggs, I always loved this birds, I think they have a lot of elegance.
California quail: I'll take 6 eggs, small and crazy bird, I love it.
Virginia quail:I'll take 6 eggs, It's a very cute animal, I had one and was very gratefull
Mallard: I don't know how many eggs I could take from my friend, I think about 12 eggs...
I wanted to have khaki campbell and indian runners, but my fathers think it's a waste of money buy that ducks...but if I can buy them I'll take 12 of each.
I think that's all, if I find other bird that inspire me to do the project, I will buy it, I have all the place I wanted at the first of the thread.
I don't know if the california and virginia quails stay in a cage at home or in the pen, ar small birds and there are some cats, owls and rats...I will take 24 king quail eggs to have in home, Now I only have 2 males and one female that layed about 15 eggs.
You are going to let out 70 birds every day and get them all back into enclosures at night?

All the birds that are going to he pen, will be imprinted animals.
How are you going to imprint all of these birds?
As Kedreeva mentioned earlier, if you have a group of birds they are more likely to imprint on each other than on you.
And even if they are imprinted, that does not mean they will do what you want, or go where you want.

Are the outdoor pens covered? If not, the birds will fly away.
In a big open space like this, you just will not be able to control where these birds go and you will not be able to get them into enclosures or sheds at night.
This would be a good place to free range birds, but it looks like they have a vineyard there? You will probably get into trouble when your birds eat all of the grapes!

No, they are almond trees, I have a vineyard above the pens and they can eat all the grapes they want.

Good question, the only birds I think can go away without me are the peafowls, and I don't have a problem If they want to take a walk alone, the nuns are very excited with my project and they love the birds, I think they are not going to have any problem to have a peafowl walking neat him.

I know that are a lot of birds, but the only ones that are going to take a walk with me every day even they are older are the ducks.
Pheasants and partridges when I see that are not listening to me I don't take him more walks, are closed animals and they can't go away

All the birds that are going to he pen, will be imprinted animals.
How are you going to imprint all of these birds?
All the birds will born in my home, and they will hatch at diferent days. I have a minimum of 4 hours a day to stay with the birds.
As Kedreeva mentioned earlier, if you have a group of birds they are more likely to imprint on each other than on you.
That is better, the birds don't depend on me. That is named dual direction imprinting, a spanish man haves diferent types of parrots and they use this impinting to let them fly away. Here is here youtube channelhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM9C4dOCVVfLG3sFiVdhUAw
And even if they are imprinted, that does not mean they will do what you want, or go where you want.
I know that, I have a roo and when they arrive to the month of live, stoped following me....
I know that it's a big project, but I need to expose january 2015....sincerly, I maked this project to take care of animals.
I don't talk you that a few years ago, I had another emplacement with ducks, turkeys and doves. Every weekend I taked him for a walk to the river and other places, people looked at me like If I was cray, they have reason, I was very crazy. Any of that birds was imprinted on me. There were 2 chinese geese and 1 muscovy duck and two mallards. The chinnese geese go with me to every place and te ducks when I let him alone returned to their home flying, It was spectacular but one day no one was there, doves killed and no trace of the ducks, the geese was sold few days ago but it was a big deception. Now I will have a legal place with a contract and I can give the birds what they want....I think they will be happy with me in this place.
Thanks
