It actually could be burns. I do remember seeing him roosting during the day over the chimney. His roosts at night are rafters in my coop. Flooring is sand.I looks like frostbite or burns to me, I am sure it hurts him. What kind of flooring in the coop? And what does your perches look like? (construction) I will tell you more of my experience when we get home from the city.
