peacocks displaying

Thats a Bronze peacock , but not Pied, he keeps get more white as he moults.

The pens show with enougth room, males can be house together, but I put them in breeding pens, by color and pattern...

So I know what color or patterns the chicks will be......

So pretty:) My one year old male has started displaying. He is so funny, he does it to anyone or anything. Do you know why he walks backwards when do it, though? Is that what they're supposed to do? The kids are dying over the shaking part where it sounds like he's hissing from shaking his tail so much!

I know this topic is kinda old, but I never got to see all your topics since I just recently joined this site, so I am going through them all. I agree, I love pieds because each bird is unique and pieds are easier to identify who is who than India Blues.

Your birds are soo stunning!

Wowwee... I know nothing about peafowl right now, but I plan on google-ing some knowlegle. I have always admired peacocks, but never have explored the idea of owning some. How are they in cold weather? Do you take care of them similar to chickens as for as coops or pens? What are the advantages other then the obvious beauty of it all?

Hehe welcome to the world of exploring peafowl, you should check out this peafowl section oh and I can give you plenty of website links to explore. I love helping people learn about peafowl! They are funny birds, not just pretty but funny and they surprize you every day with their strange antics!

Great peafowl links:

They do well in cold weather and they don't cost much, they don't eat a lot. You do keep them in pens like chickens but the pens need to be tall for the male's display and bigger than they would be for chickens. I can help you learn stuff and so can others here!
