PEACOCKS DROPPING TAIL FEATHERS

I have some that are a bit broken or stained and I sell those for $1 each. I like my feathers too much to get rid of cheaply. They never go bad and I enjoy them sitting around in vases. I am never in any hurry to sell them since I figure I will eventually find someone that really wants them. To sell one or two here and there can sometimes mean an extra dollar where I did not have that bit of money.
Keep a broken or stained one hanging from your rear view mirror and when someone sees it mention that you have some for sale. I am always on the hunt for a customer and if I miss the sale, my hubby usually tries to pick another one up. LOL

I agree. I refuse to sell them cheap. I have mine in vases around the house and I love it!

Some of the sword feathers have eyes in them and are very attractive so those are $5, as well. The butterfly feathers are $2 to $3 and so are the regular sword feathers, depending on condition. I got some beat up ones for $1 so those folks that want to know what I got for $1 can see those!

Cool. I have been thinking about bartering feathers for jellies, jams, preserves, etc. Do you think I should barter dollar for dollar? Is 1 feather for 1 pint of jam a good barter if the feather costs $5.00 and a pint of jelly/jam costs $5.00?

Quote: Absolutely. But every area may be different. My area has the normal IB feathers around that people sell but I have the cool IB WE, purple (I place next to an IB feather for comparison), Bronze and white. Some people really go for the white feathers but they are singly my least favorite eye feather.

A guy emailed me and offered 4 pints of jelly for 20 feathers. All I could do was...................................................

So, I emailed him back that the 20 feathers are worth $100.00 ($5.00 each) and he is offering me a $24.00 trade tops (that's IF he sells the pints for $6.00 x 4 pints and that's a stretch.)

Then he emails be back and tells me that he pays $2.00 in the store for peacock feathers. As bad as I wanted to email him back and ask him why is he not at the store at this very minute buying those $20.00 feathers, I didn't. I just said thanked him and hoped that he had a good day. :smack

He is actually right. In my local supermarket in the flower dept you can get peacock feathers for $2 each. They come in different colors. Looks like they took white feathers and dyed them but you can also get IB ones. Come in packages of 8 for $16. The Costco I work at gets peacock feathers in next month and sells 12 for $9 they are in the flower cooler, but they only have them for a short period of time.

well they do sell for 2 dollars , you can find them for a dollar in some places, I found some hair clips with peacock feathers and there were 2 in the pack for one dollar on a wall of value at the grocery store
