Great thank you Kathy ! Is two weeks too young to give such medicine? When should one start with oreventive doses normally?
Javiera

Two weeks is not too young if they are sick, but Sulmet is a sulfa antibiotic, so I don't think it's something you want to use as a preventative. Can you get amprolium, or medicated feed like Gerald suggested?

Unfortunately they don't sell medicated feed here, we are very behind (in Chile) with bird medication, we gave 2,5 ml baycox 5% (the only one available here) in a gallon of water, hope it will help, tomorrow will get some samples to the lab. Think it is ok? Thank you both for your help and time!

Sorry I didnt see your location. Yes, get the samples to the lab and let us know the results. Im guessing the lab is the vet? If so, maybe they can help you for prevention purposes.

You can give the Baycox orally, but it has to be diluted, and I'm not sure what the proper dilution ratio is. The dose they need is 0.014 ml per 100 grams, so you would have to weigh the chick. If I had one that weighed 100 grams, I think I would mix 0.014 ml with 1.5 or 2 ml ow water and give it orally for two days. Do you know how to tube feed chicks?

I will try that, results came back from the lab and they are full of cocci. Inwill mix the dose with boiled egg? I'm terrified of aspiration and don't know how to tube feed :(
How often should i treat them to brake the circle? Thank you so much little one seems fine but i am scared to loose him if i don't take care of it properly.

Do you have syringes?

Yes i do have little ones :) maybe i can give it in drops?
Baby seems fine though and 6 new ones hatched today, hope the won't get the cocci, separated them from eachother.
You could try drops, or you could try to find a size 8 french catheter and I could teach you how to tube.
