Peafowl 201: Further Genetics- Colors, Patterns, and More

Pics
I think.....that there are two types of purple colors! .... and it doesn't depend from where the light comes! "The mother of the peach hen was the mutant Purple hen born in 1987.This first purple hen was mated to a cameo cock." legg's peafowl farm genetic . Wich purple ?
Dany12, Please dont quote me on this but, didnt the first purples come from a peafowl legend out of Arizona by the name of Jack Seipel? If I remember correctly it was a free range bs hen? Many folks may not have ever heard of Jack but, he is indeed a true legend especially with Greens. Im probably wrong about the purples but, Im not wrong about Jack he paved the early road that many of us are still traveling,

I got a bit of a surprise the other day I was out feeding, with camera in hand, and I noticed a couple of ten-month-old cocks I got from @Garden Peas that I had thought were IB split Opal. I was taking pics for a customer and snapped a couple of them as well. I guess they are not Opal after all. Funny what you can see in a pic that you don't see in person.

Looks like an IB to me. Mainly the third photo.

I am sick ... when I look at this site! ... the colors are HORRIBLE .... ! Here are 2 not photoshoped pictures : Texaspeafowl Hopkins' Alternative Livestock .... are they the same colour ....???
They could be. I would like a picture showing the trains. IBs will have yellow in their train while Purples will have a blue green instead. Based on some photos I've seen.

So looking around the internet it seems if there's just the right amount of Spalding you can get Purples that appear obvious Purples but not obvious Spaldings. Of course with Indian Purples sunlight and angles make a big difference.

KSKingBee, without knowing that these are all the same bird, do you think someone could mistake them for two individual birds; one IB and one Purple?
