I am still getting eggs. Getting one every other day from the trio pen. I keep putting them straight into the bator thinking that it is the last one. Now I have 8 of the "last eggs" in there!!

My Cameo,Bronze,Thang,and Taupe are losing trains now but still collected 9 eggs from pens last night of pens with males trains still nice and long here.Put about 40 in the bator tonight from the past 7 days collecting. We may have one more week here in east central Illinois.

Set 7-7, laid between 5-30 and 7-5, but they were not kept cool enough and we had a few very warm days. My current set of 17 were laid between 6-24 and 6-19, so we'll see if any of those are good in a few days.

Think I'll start a new thread about holding times , see how others have done.

I am finally seeing what it means when you all say they are dropping their tails. I never paid attention before in the past. I was so happy to see so many feathers this weekend. That means NO MORE BREEDING AND NO MORE EGGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( i hope )

I just set 17 eggs under some broodies, but like the last batch of 16, of which only one is viable, many of the 17 are old, so I doubt that I'll get many.

Thanks, but it's okay, really... Hens are still layin and the boys still have their trains, so I'll probably get some more.

Good idea... At the end of the season I should have decent data on at least 63 eggs. -Kathy

I have collected about 40 pea feathers with eyes and the other sword feathers and many feathers with no eyes. I'm so excited. However, I did notice that one of the girls layed an egg while on the roost. It was right below her and it was cracked. I was kinda happy about that. I have 3 pea eggs under a broody chicken. We'll see what happens.

I got 3 eggs left to hatch, I thought I was done and then a hen layed 3 more eggs, now I have to wait and see if my last years hatch lay that should be soon but their eggs will be no good to hatch, the only males with eye feathers left are last years hatch and they ain't breeding thank god,
