Peafowl for 2013

I just put the last 2 eggs under a broody hen last night. I BETTER NOT see any more pea eggs. ENOUGH ALREADY!!

I never thought I'd be saying it, but I will be glad when it's over, lol. The egg laid last night was out of a hen that's laid at least 30 eggs so far and one of the other hens looked like she was going to lay, so I bet I'll get one from her tonight.

Candled the eggs I have under hens and it looks like five of the 15 are no good, so that means I'm down to 10 to hatch in the next two weeks.

And I got real lazy and didn't write down when I set all of the eggs, plus their numbers have rubbed off, so I have no idea what eggs are hatching when.

I will try to do a better note keeping job next year, lol.

Here is a pic of some of the preserves that will be part of my trade for some peacock feathers. I couldn't pass this deal up. And they are still getting more jars for me.

WOWZERS i am traiden my eggs next year for canned goods them eggs alone cost 6.99 in the grocery store that is almost the cost of one pea egg.

It's day 25 for three of my eggs and they are peeping! This is the second batch for this hen, she's definetly a keeper, she's been sitting on eggs since the end of May. Guess maybe I should find a chicken egg that's about to hatch, 'cause these peachicks are coming inside.
