Peafowl for 2013

Anyone have peas laying?

No eggs here, but one of my hens was looking like she did last year... Just before dark she'll start pacing with back flat and her tail held flat, too.

My husband just informed me that we will be making a road trip to beautiful Tampa, FL in April. He gave me an advanced notice so I can start "wheeling and dealing".

He knows me too well. I am going to fing Stancock a pied girlfriend hopefully at the auctions at Yates Center or Gardner. So I will probably fill up the bator from the road triip...hehe.

No pea eggs yet, here in SE Colorado, but our nights have
regularly/consistantly been around 10°-12°, with some cold days
and some warm. Coldest winter night was about -12°.

Lost 2 free range blue cocks this winter to a great horned owl, until
I think we frightened him away by shooting a shotgun at twilight
( not for the bird- but for the coyotes). My remaining blue male has a
full train and doing some displaying.
I saw my opal male doing some too.
Hopefully nights will warm up here soon.

Glad to see some are starting to get eggs!!!!

We are looking for peafowl. I'd prefer to pick up eggs or birds, but would gladly have some juveniles shipped if anyone is looking to part with any.

same here, some of the girls have been hunting for nest areas late in the evening, luckly most of the time my pyrenees is with them way out in the woods.
