he said she was a little over a year in early november right after the last jacobs cave he didn't have enough birds to go so I got her at a real great price she is full india blue and my cock just started struting his tail is about 2 foot tall and 4 foot wide but he hasn't yelped yet but oyster shell will be in the menu for tomorrow im just so excited I've always wanted peacocks since my great grandparents had them they are spoiled rotteh with cackle berries and grapes and spinach to go with the game bird crumbles and some cracked corn and feeder fish in there little pond they will try to eat the fish in the bag before I get them in the pondFWIW, my P- Dawg hatched in October, so I think it's possible.
Wow I don't know how I missed this post! I am glad you were able to get all of those birds back in! Ha I got worried because a few days before I was going to sell Goldilocks to you she got out of the aviary (I think the darn netting around the roost tore) and we searched and searched for her and found her high up in an oak tree. When she gets out she likes to get up high but she came right back to the aviary the next day so I am glad she did that for you too. I have had most of the peafowl out before but I don't have many peafowl to begin with so I could just imagine 80 or so birds getting out! Amazing story! Has Goldilocks laid anymore eggs? Sometimes my peahens skip a day or two before they lay another egg. I don't know if any of my peahens want to make a nest and sit on it now that the only one that started doing that was killed. I keep finding eggs in random places which is not what I would like to see. The older peahens seem to be starting to make nests. Sometimes they lay a lot of eggs before they finally lay some in a good spot and all together and then sit on them. She might nest under that bush.Thanks. Im pretty sure shes fine. Almost every bird got out of my big pen 4 days ago including her (goldilocks). Its a long story but I got everyone back (80 birds at least). except for about 2 dozen ducklings. Unbelieveable and a true miracle really. Turned out a dog was the culprit. My brother saw how he did it later one morning. The husky type dog stood up and pushed at the door before my brother ran him off. Never touched the hotwire neither the way he did it he said. Because no blood or dead birds in the pen when it happened I just assumed it was a person because the door was wide open and birds were everywhere.I happened to have the the hotwire off when he did it so some newly added ducklings wouldnt get popped. Goldilocks was 40 foot in a tree! The dog couldnt open the latch this last time because I added a lock. Goldilocks finally came down and walked in the last 5 adult ducks the next morning, I shut the hotwire off that night so they wouldnt get shocked if they showed up the next morning which they did. Glad that dog didnt try to get in that night with it off. Like I said the whole thing is a miracle and unbelieveable. Thank God for the happy ending!
