My kids love their peanut butter sandwiches. Having said that, if one of them had a child in their class who was severely allergic to peanuts, we would happily give up eating peanut butter at school to protect their classmate's life.
I also feel like schools are total germ factories, and would applaud the school stopping and asking all of the kids to wash their hands a couple times a day. Can you imagine how disease would drop? If my kid school ISN'T stopping and making the entire class wash their hands before lunch or snacks, I would be grossed out, and I'm not a germaphobe.
Frankly, I am absolutely DISGUSTED that those "parents" have the audacity to picket the school in protest. It seems unbelievably cruel to a SIX YEAR OLD GIRL who can't help that she's allergic. Their kid's right to have a peanut butter sandwich is more important than another child's right to breathe? Really? Is a sandwich really that important?
Their attitude seems to be a reflection of how society has declined a bit. In the past, it was important to be thoughtful and respectful of others. Nowadays, it seems like it's valued to put yourself above everyone else.
I'm not even touching the religion in classrooms. Sorry.
