Peanutbutter is boy/girl? (update pic on post #22, now 4 months old!)

I'm sure a boy.
About the comb, I have a EE/Ameracauna pullet that lays a big olive egg almost every day and I can still barely detect a comb.

How do you like your jaerhon?
I have 2 I really like, their eggs aren't real big yet though.

Ok Peanutbutter is now 4 months old and still I question if boy or girl

My friend had an EE/Ameraucana that was colored very similar to Peanut Butter and she recently took him to the feed store because she was a he...I don't think that you see that kind of different coloring in the females. Sorry. My friend was disappointed because she really liked the color. We thought she was a pullet for the longest time, until he started crowing!

The feathers' shapes scream female. I get what the poster above said about the variation of colors and how they look very roo-ish, but that is really the only thing I see that could mean it's a boy. Remember, EE's can be any color. I wouldn't make any rash decisions. I would say female and a gorgeous one at that.

Four months now?

Definately I say Pullet. I see nothing that screams male to me. I don't see the definitive pointy hackles and saddles on that bird, and it has a very nice fully developed tail - which is when I'd expect to see the streamy saddles coming in (most EE roos I've ever seen are slow to feather their tails)

I have an EE rooster that his 12 weeks old and when you look at him you practically yell "ROOSTER!!" They have similar coloring. I have a pullet that is younger but has nearly identical coloring to Peanut Butter.

This is my roo, he is 12 weeks old. He still does not crow.

And these two are my EE pullets... (the pics are a few weeks old, but they are just bigger with the same coloring)

Kern - yes I agree your boy SCREAMS boy - already has his roo tail growing good (those longer tail feathers that curl over) - and he's got that "not quite finished" look to his butt end - his saddles are coming in - thats what I'm used to seeing in EE roos - the tails ends are slow to feather in and have that "something got ahold of my butt" type look

he is GORGEOUS BTW

your roo has a blue laced red type coloring - and the OP's peanut butter has what you'd refer to as a red pyle type coloring.

I keep hoping it is a boy since it has such neat coloring. I'm trying to start up an EE flock and it would really be nice if it was a boy! But if not another girl is good too!
And thanks ScaredOfShadows, I've been wondering what coloring Peanutbutter is close too!

I have a very pretty EE pullet (almost 5 months old) that has similar coloring to your Peanutbutter.... I'd say she's a girl
