Pecking/eating foam insulation

A couple of my girls have started pecking at and eating the styrofoam insulation that is under the coop(insulates the coop floor). How can I get them to stop. I imagine it's not good for them to eat styrofoam!

A little styrofoam will pass right through, but a lot will begin to cause digestive problems, so you want to put something over the insulation so they can't access it. I have insulation in my coops and I've stapled quarter inch hardware cloth over all of the cracks stuffed with it.

Another thing they love to eat is silicone sealer. I now use cement instead.
