pecking her own eggs!!

help! I am a newcomer to the chicken raising game.....i have 2 girls, Laverne & Shirley. Laverene recently started laying....everything was going well until the other day when she started laying her eggs in her own pooh!! She has also taken to pecking her own eggs if I don't retrieve them first....can anyone tell me what's going on?

I can't help, but I am laughing.....

BECAUSE, I have only 2 egg layers .... Lavern and Shirley! They are 1 yr old Cuckoo Marans, and my Lavern does the same thing! I think it's the name !

She insists on leaving a little, "dimple," in each egg. Sometimes she just scratches it, but I see the mark!
