Pecking offender

UPDATE:jumpy
I've been paying more attention to her she seems to have gotten better at night
Is this the case of a really clingy bird who is possessive

Getting cold up here am I really wrong for worrying about my 5 year old hens and with her constant pecking at night she chases then right out of the coop

Either rehome it or separate it.
I'm doing what I can financially to save up to separate her but right now she is actually doing better I've moved one of my hens to a different spot in the nesting area and she's pecked only a little bit at night she only does this behavior at night I've been paying more attention to her as well shehonestly can't helpit sheis just very clingy and possessive of me I understand I have to consider Rehoming her butt shehas no chance of free ranging I don't want her to be killed I do understand you point of view and I do understand that she is a guinea hen and that they don't act like chickens I've been working with her some more her behavior varies by year and she also protects my hens I have no option if Rehoming if she is gone then I have no one to protect the others I can't get a rooster or else my neighbors will kill him thank you for the suggestions it still helps either way R2elk thank you and may I ask have you had guineas before

@R2elk can u explain to me why it's best of epithet those options sheonly drawn blood that is thin as a rug burn to a scrap shehas taken out a few feathers that contained no blood

The only time that she had taken out a huge chunk was of my mother finger and hands she has very fragile hands lilac doesn't mean for it to happen either I just want to do what is in her best interest and I know her better than anyone because people read her by her cover of likea book and don't bother to read what's inside sheis content whereshe is

There is another option but it is an option that you would not consider (processing). It is a guinea. It is not going to stop its behavior. During breeding season, it will get worse.

Guineas are flock birds. It is lonely for others of its own kind. It cannot communicate with the chickens because it cannot understand their vocalizations just like the chickens cannot understand it. Neither can understand the behavior of the others.

You obviously don't understand your guinea or you would know how unhappy it is. If you want to learn about guineas, read Raising Guinea Fowl 101 and pay particular attention to posts made by @PeepsCA

It's not being "possessive", it's lonely and stressed. It needs to be around other guineas. You need to consider what's best for your animals. Your guinea is attacking your chickens, is hurting and scaring your chickens, and is extremely upset itself. You need to get more guineas, or find it a home with more guineas.

I've been considering another guinea hen don't worry I've been wanting add one for a while now I understand she isn't all that aggressive I just want to make her happy she is very affectionate guinea hen most of the time she is very content she is honestly happy most of the time she lets out a high pitched purring/whistling sound she loves human interaction I get that I sound horrible fowl owner its hard for me to explain things that people understand since I think differently I'll take I look at those posts as well I know I may sound selfish but my life would be empty without my little bundle of joy of a guinea hen I've done hours of research because I just want to understand her I'll post a video link of her but right now it's freezing out so she is huddled in with the gals if she is miserable then why does she seem so content she loves snuggles to

@R2elk I understand you think I'm inexperienced with her and it hurts that you say that she isn't happy sheis always usually content one thing I can say I's I'm stubborn and she is like my own child to me I am doing my best and trying to make all those birds happy they come first beforeanything else there have been days when I didn't have enough to feed myself I had to choice between feed for them or a meal formyself I chose feed forthem i get I'm stupid sounding and everything I'm going to become a vet tech the reason is because of my hens and wanting to make a difference forother chicken and fowl lovers but please don't take this to heart i was a bit offended when people say that she not happy i feel like I'm not good enough forher but ive given up so much forher and I'm willing to do it again and if sheis threatened I'm willing to give up my life to save them
