pecking?

Is the mother hen sposed to peck at the little chick like it poped its head out from under her and she pecked her I was wondering if she did that telling the chick to go back under her or if she is not used to them and are trying to hurt them? Because if she is I have a brooder ready in the house with heat lamp and 2 other chicks

Whoa. Not quite sure about your broody hen. In my experience, it's better to be safe than sorry: "When in doubt, get that brooder out!"

Thank you I don't know if I will or not

the broody is a BJG and has been sitting on this egg for 26 days it Just hatched today I would feel

bad because she would just sit there even though there is no egg or chick.
