Not much expirience she is from februari, but she is much more docille than ginny my EE. She will follow me around sit on my lap or shoulder and talks to me. I havent had any healt isues. They are nice backyards pets and she wont dig deep pits in the garden, she is the only bird who may come to the vegetable garden becouse she wont ruin it :D

You have had Dutch chicks right?
Do you know at what age you knew the sex? My Dutch Booted bantams are now 3 weeks and I'm getting idea's but I want to know:rolleyes:
Yes I have Dutch, from buying chicks and natural breeding. The easiest way to see is at the comb at this age. The male chicks get bigger and serrated combs with 3 - 4 weeks (gekarteld). I guess it’s about 80-90% accurate. Because some cockerels develop more slowly and there are always individual characteristics.

But Dutch booted are a different breed as Dutch bantam. Booted are 2x as big. So I am not sure if the combs /developments are the same.

Did you post photo’s somewhere? Or can you post them here?

And what is an easter egger in Dutch? I didn’t know they sell them here.

I see they are getting some diffrences in comparisment to last week but its my first time with chicks. I tought mine were tiny but yours must be ieniemienie.

I bought Ginny and Sul as Araucana's but they are to much off, when I contacted the breeders they said they had araucana's and wyandottes and mixxes who all mingled, so she must be a mix so in my opinion a EE.

Yes you are right about you're ‘Araucanas’. In the US they would call them EE. But I’ve never seen any articles in the Netherlands on EE (‘paasei-leggers’).

There is a new breed which has it’s origin in the Netherlands that lays coloured eggs : ‘Schijndelaar’ . A beautiful breed. But too big for my flock/me.

Schijndelaar
Origin: the Netherlands. A breed developed in the village of Schijndel, at the end of the twentieth century, and developed with the help of Araucana's, Sumatra's, Brabant Boerenhenders, Leghorns and Dutch crested fowl.

General impression: A graceful, medium-sized pheasant-like grouse. The hens of this breed lay blue to olive green eggs.

Mold description
Hull: quite long.
Head: small, slightly rounded top head. Face red and slightly covered with fine hair-like feathers.
Comb: three-row comb, the middle row of which is clearly higher than the outer row.
Crested: fairly small without skull knot, placed low on the head, following the skull line, and consisting of long, flexible feathers.
Beak: firm, short and slightly curved; yellow.

Bantam Schijndelaar
They seem to work on recognition of a bantam Schijndelaar too. Interesting. In Dutch:

You are right they would have called them green layers here not easter eggers but I think that is incorect becouse they dont all lay green eggs and I dont like the sound of mutt but that wat she is.
A mix breed, but a beautifull chicken. 💕
I have a beautiful mix breed too. ;) Meet my Janice (and Graaf Tell behind her).
Januce is a mix between Dutch bantam and Doornikse kriel (naine de Tournaisis). Graaf Tell should be a 100% Tournaisis. But she doesnt fit the standards. Too much white , too large comb. But she's my best layer! And she is adorable the way she jumps on the swing asking for treats.

They are cute. I couldn't find the german name for these... anybody know?
You mean the Schijndelaar? I don’t think there is another name for it in German or English because it is a new breed in the Netherlands. There is no official Standard in other countries as far as I know. If you like to have this breed you probably can buy/ship fertilised eggs from breeders in NL.

This Schijndelaar and many other breeds have their origin in mixes. Even the Dutch Bantam is created long, long time ago.

I was talking about this Doorniker Kriel... but I found it translated as Doorniker Zwerghuhn. I have never heard of it! I honstely don't have room for more chickens... or more breeds. wish I could...
