Peeps in Europe!

I have not been posting much as this year was quite a roller coaster. I am not sure how much I have told on here.
Last year I got myself some bantam Sulmtaler wheaten colored. I was breeding the large fowl before. Things did not look well in my marriage and I wouldn't be able to keep feeding the large ones. I knew it would be coming but I wanted to hang on to them. They were my babies!!
As the year started out things went from bad to worse. Another breeder asked if I would sell them my last breeders. And if I wanted to he would alsways provide offspring to me. So I did it. I sold the last ones. Under tears! It was so hard.
On March 1st my husband and I seperated. I was then looking for an apartment. It is pretty hard atm. I was very frustrated. A friend in my breeding club had to start looking for an apartment as well. He was living with his brother who wanted to sell the house. At first we kept looking for apartments for ourselfs. Eventually we realized it takes too much time. And I felt like I HAD to leave the apartment with my husband as he was driving me crazy. We started looking for an apartment together. And we found a nice place in town. It is cheaper as we both split the costs. We each have our own bedroom. It works!
My bantams worked out well. I do find them cute. They are easier to handle... especially when you have to wash them for the show. They need a lot less food, make less of a mess. Currently I have to keep them inside which makes me even more happy that I only have bantams anymore. I was able to take them to only one show this year. But that is for another story!! I was district champion with my cuties.
All in all I am happy I changed to bantams. They work well for me. Even though when I see the large fowl I do get a longing. But one has to be sensible.

Hope everyone is doing well! I am doing very well and you don't need to be sorry for my marriage! Looking back it was coming for a long time.

Thanks for the update Abpatchy. So glad things worked out for you after such a hard time. :hugs

Are you keeping the bantams in the same coops and runs where you had the big ones previously? Do you have to travel further now?
I’d love to see a few photos of your wheaten colored bantam Sulmtalers. How many do you have?

As a matter of fact, it would be great if all peeps in Europe would post a few photos of their current flock with some details like breed, sex, age, names. 😍

I have 8 bantam chickens now. All female. I keep a record of my flock in the App Anymal.
This ⬇️ is from the Dutch app, but i believe its available in English too.

The hatch dates are not exact. But the app needs a specific day. The app has an archive section too, where I keep all losses and the older cockerels with a name who had to leave the premisses.
