Did you do anything to him regarding healing..?? Or did he just heal on his own???

What does neo contain in the pain relief one that shouldn't be used on ducks?! I just bought that one and after applying I saw your post D:'

I wrapped her as well but she kept losing balance and ended up taking it off

so I applied more Neosporin and left her alone..
She's now hiding behind the door getting her alone time

I think im gonna try to get some sort of antibiotics for her since I have decided not to go along with surgery

I think most feed stores carry something. Some vets might be able to help out.

So sorry to hear about your duck.

Everyone has given you great advice. I would definitely follow all of the excellent advice as far as trimming the feathers around the wound, cleaning the wound, applying Neosporin and vet wrap. If no vet wrap, then putting on Blue Kote so that your duck doesn't pick at the wound would be good. I would also put the duck somewhere where it could have quiet time. That is very important for recovery.

If it were me, I would ask my vet to give me Baytril tabs for the internal infection from the bacteria laced scratches. Baytril tabs are dispensed in 136 mg tabs but an adult duck would only need 68 mg (cut that whole tab in half). I would administer 1/2 tab (68mg)every day for 5 days. If the vet wouldn't give me the Baytril tabs, I would administer Penicillin with a 19 gauge needle but would prefer going with the Baytril. Again, this is how I would treat my duck. Everyone has their own personal choice of antibiotics and Baytril is my #1 choice.

I hope your duck heals 100%.

Omg. What a relief : )
I haven't been able to update but she seems to be doing okay personality-wise.. I checked the wound and she has some green pus gooey like thing. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's the infection

she only has a little and the rest of the wound looks yucky but definitely better than before. Should I be concerned?

I picked up some antibiotics from the vet and some antibiotic ointment to put on the wound. I don't know if it's affected her in any way but she's definitely eating more

she flew up the steps into my house, she digs like crazy and quacks a lot!

Plus, my mommy told me to ask Saint Martin de Porres to heal my little baby. I'm a hopeful woman
