Pekin bantam thread!

They're gorgeous!

My Pekin and silkie eggs are wriggling in their eggs at the moment so not long to wait now but can't wait to see their little faces :) I think only 6 of the 8 that made it to lockdown are likely to hatch but we'll see :)

Also have another 20 Pekin eggs waiting to go in once this lot have hatched.
Thank you and i wish you luck with your chicks!! Post pics once they hatch!! :)

And maybe someone can tell me, this is Cho, she was sold to me as a pekin but it was apparent as soon as I took her out of the box that she's not, thoughts on breed? A cross maybe? She's so tiny but she's the alpha hen

Beautiful chickens!!! She may be a pekin. How old is she? As when pekins are younger the there is quite a difference in shape and tail legth. They take a while to turn into a fluffball! Haha good luck with them post pics if she starts to take shape :)

Hello i got my pekins yesterday!!!!
I love them already their such characters. Cant wait to breed them definitely going to be an range of colours!!

Anyway here they are: :D

Here's Teddy she's already put herself top in the pecking order haha. She's nice to me but she's got no patience for the others :) Expecting an egg from her soon :)

Here is my rooster Sherbert or my little baby sister calls him dip dab as she cant pronounce his name . I love watching him attempting to show off to the girls needless to say they run at him when he's holding food for them haha. He's quite young compared to Teddy so he's got to get a bit rounder and fluffier yet. His dad is produced him at the ripe old age of 14 and still going fertile and he's won a few awards in his time so thats good to know.

And here is Pumpkin she also is quite young should reach point off lay in a couple of weeks but she started crouching for me already. Shes my roosters favourite girl out of my flock so i will be looking out for fertile eggs when she starts laying :D

Yay! they are lovely!

Sherbert has great colouring and is very similar to my own pekin cockerel, Flay.

The hens are so pretty, love their colouring too, Pumpkin has an especially sweet face! It would be really interesting to see what kind of colouration you'd get in Teddy/Sherbert's chicks.
Hope you get some eggs soon!

I can't wait for our local auction in May, definitely going to get a few more hens to add to my pekin flock - they are certainly my favourite breed.

My hatch date was Friday night however they were rather late and only just got one little pekin hatch yesterday evening (luckily I was working only in the morning so got to see the little guy hatch). Just hoping now that at least one more chick hatches to give him/her some company!

Will post a pic once the little guy is totally fluffed!

Thank you i cant wait to breed from mine and i got my first egg from teddy today and i opened it up and sure enoungh it was fertile :celebrate so i'm gonna get a batch collected then put them in the incubator. Wish you well with you hatch i started with one but luckily a second hatched later so good luck! Cant wait to see pics :D

Woo hooo!

Put me next batch in the incubator tonight so will hopefully have some more chicks to look forward to. My little guy died today, not sure what caused it, he seemed so active but maybe it was the stress of being an only chick? Or maybe something internal, I just don't know!

On a positive note here's some pics of my pekins :)
