Pekin bleeding around shoulder area

She seems to be about the same, except no more bleeding, so maybe a tiny bit better? I just sprayed the shoulder area and its still raw. She's taking her antibiotic and eating and behaving as normal. Praying that she can turn this around and heal up!!!

Thanks for checking Miss Lydia. I thought maybe she was healing up because there was no bleeding the last couple of days, but I noticed it again this morning. Feeling a little sick and sad about that. She still loves treats, eats, and behaves as normal, though she's twitching her wings almost constantly, which makes me think maybe she's a bit uncomfortable? If there's no change at the end of the course of antibiotics I'm not sure what to do. The vet didn't think it would be contagious to the rest of the flock, but the bits of reading I've done makes me wonder if that's true. Of course they've all probably been fully exposed by now anyway, since they share everything in common. This morning I called a vet that's 5 minutes down the road from me to see if they would euthanize a duck (still waiting to hear) as the visit to the poultry vet was a long drive, and really stressful for Penny. I guess I'm still in the wait and see and pray mode.

I know your hoping the meds will jump start her immune system. Are you giving her any vitamin support? Maybe some vitamins will help build up her immune system. How much longer on the antibiotics?

I looked up B complex to see if this might help Penny, and I would defiantly give it a try. Here is the info you'll see they mention skin, dermatitis scaly skin and also feather quality.

I'd try her on 1ml morning 1 ml evening for a week. The best is liquid B complex at TSC in the cattle dept. It will say injectable but works great using it orally. Just give it to her over a yummy treat. or use a needless syringe and give it to her that way.
