Usually bumble shows up as a scab on the bottom of the foot or feet,.  Pekins  can have leg problems because they grow so fast and niacin is in short supply in all chick feed. It's important we supplement by either adding niacin crushed into their water at 125-150mgs per gallon or Nutritional [Brewers yeast] at 1 tab per cup of feed daily.   This is something we just do right off the bat whether we're hatching ourselves or buying from hatchery or feed store. It's never too late to start them on B3 and see if it will help. How old are your Jumbos?

I understand peas does have some niacin but I wouldn't rely on peas alone especially if your already having problems

The girls are just over two years old.
All but 1 have been laying recently.

I would def get some Nutritional yeast or niacin [150mgs] and get them started on something like either of those.

Make sure to they get plenty of calcium because it takes alot to build and egg and if they don't get enough it will come from their bones.

Question. Why would my girl be panting? She's been doing it along today. The weather did change drastically today. It was 88°, it has been 70ish at the most the last few weeks & the last week or so it's been chilly. She acted fine tho, bathed, mated, played... All the norm, but she would pant when she laid down. My Drake wasn't at all. It's weird. I put them up earlier & I just went to check on her & she was laying in her nest panting. When I pick her up she seems to stop? Advice??!!

I noticed one of my hens (I have 4) was "fluttering" her wings like she does when she is hot. Our weather was 84 today so I figured that she was just hot. She didn't seem to have any problems otherwise so I figure she is okay.

Was the nest in a closed area where she wasn't getting any breeze?

It could be because she is a duck! LOL

No she was getting air... It was weird. I think I'm gonna go check on her again before bed.. but I think it was just the dramatic change in temperature.

I'm sorry your pekin is panting. do you have any other pekins or ducks doing the same? I really have no idea, cuz i am not there. one thing that came to mind was maybe something she ate is causing her distress. have you cked her croop, to make sure she is not blocked and having a difficult time breathing. when ducks are hot they lift their wings away from their body. did you change her feed? maybe she found something that didnt agree w/her while she was free-ranging??? i really dont know, but i just want you to know i am saying a prayer for your pekin....

Ducks can pant from being overheated, from being nervous, and feeling unwell.

So, no need to panic, just be aware. She is still, as you say, in the tail end of recovery, and her ability to regulate her body temperature may be compromised. I would baby her a bit for a while, till her internal regulation systems are back up to snuff.

(up to snuff is a strange term.....)
