I have six ducklings not sure of age but thinking 3-4 weeks. The one and only Pekin I have keeps panting. I have turned light off completely, but they are in the house. Just wondering if s/he will be OK or do I need to try to help cool somehow. Also, when can they go outside without heat lamp.Tgey have not been using light at all except when they go for a swim I put it on just in case. It's 68 in the house. I live in Ohio so there is still possibility of frost/freeze til Mid-may. They are getting their feathers but are not fully feathered. Do they need to be fully feathered? This Pekin is huge compared to his flock mates...I can't believe they're all same age![/IMG]

I am no expert but from what I read they can go outside between 4-6weeks as long as the temps are at least 65-70 during the day and 50 at night. I am also in ohio. Mine are 4weeks just starting to get feathers. I will take them outside for short periods on warm days in three next week. If we have warm days! Lol. I hope to have them outside by 6 weeks old possibility with a heat lamp at night if it gets cold.
