Hi I am a first time duck owner and my 2-3 week pekin Daisy has a reddish wing, I found the same on her brother toby and just wanted to make sure it was normal and didn't have to do with allergies or something like that. Any thoughts are useful.

Thank you Amiga, I was starting to worry about what I was going to do and if they were ever going to get along. I talk to them all together and give them treats at the same time moving from box to box to show equal love (even though my pekins are a tad bit more spoiled), so I will just keep trying. The rouens just want to be friends so badly, lol!Yes, as cute as they are, dealing with new ducks can be ugly.
Keep the rouens separate till they are about the same size as the pekins. Introduce slowly, with supervision. Setting up an area where they can be side by side but separated by fence is a good approach.
My understanding is that technically, yes they can be trained to use nipple waterers. Seems to me, though, that since they cannot rinse their heads with them, you need head washers also. Perhaps the nipple waterers splash less than other types, I don't know. I have found having a watering platform or watering station resolves wet bedding.I know ducks need enough water to rinse out nostrils so I planned to have a pool or at least small dish of water. Can ducks use nipple waterers for drinking water purposes? I'm a touch confused on the whole water thing. Help!!!
