You know, thats a good question. I've never seen my boy eat it. Maybe they just know if/when they need it like grit. I do think the hormones pass when the weather turns cool. Yoy'll know if he's over mating her. I know you keep an eye on them. You're a good mama duck!

Awe, thank you very much! I love being their mama duck even if it includes love bites and pop ups towards my face... And the determined look he gets while he wiggles his tail feathers just before he jumps... Yeah, he's my stinker. :love

None of my drakes eat the oyster shell, my gander tried some once but never again. lol

They are sure full of themselves aren't they? lol
