Pekin Duck Club!

I feed my ducks a little cracked corn - they love it and its cheap.

I have a question maybe someone can answer. My ducks have made a beautiful nest and have 20 eggs in it.
Have one broody duck that sat all day yesterday and today she is not on her nest? Is this normal? will the eggs spoil if
she doesn't stay on them?

My ducks spent their first night outside last night in their new duckhouse! I was very nervous. Still chilly here but they have a heat lamp. Hopefully they did ok. Going to check on them here soon.

My two oldest, which will be 4 weeks old on Monday, are making different vocalizations now! I think I've got a pair

Congrats! I just have one female Pekin duck but she is now over 3 years old. The female Pekins are very vocal and loud. I did not know when I got her that you should always get them in pairs because they are such social birds. I guess I have made up for it but she has a very hard time when I go anywhere. LOL

I see one of your girls has a curled up tail with pin feathers lacing the top. Are you sure they are girls? I'm dying to find out what mine are. Do you know at what age can you tell what you have? one of my (girls?) doesn't have the lacey feathers at the end. But it does curl up a bit. But that one acts so much like a girl!
