I would love to join the Pekin Duck Club!
My name is Nicole Kirsh. I am a mother of 4, kids, 2 GSD, 1 cat, 4 hens, 2 Pekin Ducks.
I love my ducks since the day I got them. They, Daisy and Donald, are turning 1 this spring. I have plenty of questions. Like I'm curious to when Daisy will lay her first egg?

Welcome! Daisy will probably start laying once it warms up a bit. What are the temps there? I would give her some free choice oyster shell if you are not already.

Its in the 30's here in Pa.
I also have two young hens. They started laying about 5 weeks ago.
I'm not sure what oyster shell is? I'm going to make a trip to the farm store.

Oyster shell provides calcium for egg shells, bones, heart health.

I bought my first pekin duckling last week. I went to TSC for feed and bedding and I simply couldn't resist.

We bought 5 ducklings, sexed them, picked out a female, and then gave the rest to a friend.

Here she is. She is very imprinted upon us.

Anyone want one or three handsome Pekin duck drakes? My neighbor just gave them to me and I'm planning to process them. However, I figured since they are such nice looking young (6 mo) fellows that I thought I'd give it a day to find them a home first. They are free to a good home, who isn't planning to eat them, before dark today. Spotsylvania County, VA
