Pekin Duck Club!

Thank you! They quack and sound the same, Puddles with the darker beak is quieter than Marley. So I can't tell yet

My pekin doesn't sound raspy but has a curled tail feather
We lov him but now hav two drakes in with our six chooks
Is it cruel to keep them with no girlfriends
does your pekin sound anything like this??? I thought mine was a boy because my other pekin began to QUACK very early around 2 weeks old. But my ducks are about 8 weeks now and the mallard finally had it's voice change with the raspy sound that is described with males. So now I honesty don't know what my pekin is. Sometimes I feel like I see a slight curl starting (even have a picture and someone on this forum said it looked like the beginnings of a drake feather) other times it will be gone..... and it is the loudest out of the 3. It always does this sound when it sees me. The one that quacked early was named Daisy and I have been waiting to know if my second would be Donald or Lily lol

I kept four Drakes without any females for several months. They will be fine together. When I got five females I had to get rid of two of my drakes to protect the females.

I have what appear to be four drakes and one female. They're Pekins and close to 10 weeks old. I also have 5 muscovy females and one male which are housed separately. I was thinking that as the Pekins get older, two of the drakes will have to go, since a 4 to 1 ratio is not going work. Is that correct?

Yes. As for the regular duck breeds you should have 2-5 females per drake. Even 2 drakes for one female will be too much for her. Plus, the drakes will most likely fight a lot during mating season too. Better to keep it one on one if you don't wanna get any more Pekin females.
