We have a pekin duck that has a black tongue. It used to he pink. Is it normal for them to have black tongues? I'm a bit concerned. Thanks

Otherwise yes, she seems perfectly fine. She's not the friendliest but a fun experience for the kids.

I love it, my other dogs are white, and I'm wanting a black tri Aussie, it seems to be my colors of choice! Nice truck too!

That would be so fun. The two colors do complement each other so well. It's a nice combo and makes me think of Oreos or cookies and cream.

ah, that's good to hear. some ducks i have learned on here are not friendly in that they don't wanna be handled but it's nice she is fun for the kids. regarding her tongue issue, some super experienced people you may wanna ask are Amiga, Miss Lydia or Kaessa and I know there are others I haven't mentioned. I hope the issue can be resolved.

I have 3 girl khaki Campbell's & 2 males still not sure what my Pekin is yet. I figured out yesterday that I had 2 males when I could see in the sun that their beaks have started to turn color

What will my ducks like bette
r for their bed? Straw or the wood chip bedding stuff?

Definitely straw, wood chips are extremely messy, and you don't have to worry about ducks eating straw.

I checked with a friend who raises Pekins and she said none of hers have dark tongues. Something coukd be amiss. A good duck vet is always best if that is possible. Have you taken a close look, smelled the duck's breath to see if it smells bad? My ducks' breath is pleasant, so an off odor would concern me.
