Pekin Duck Club!

OK so JoJo officially has his first drake curl, but I seriously think something is wrong with my ducks. They've been action g weird the last few days. Jojo is letting me just pick him up which usually its a chase, even when he goes inside, he does a few laps before stopping at the basement door. It charlie is my main concern, she hasn't been eating from what I see, or pooping, I've been working a lot but the basement isn't as messy in the morning so something's different. She doesn't quack as much. I watch her drink but she just passes over the food. She still runs around and acts normal. I dunno how to explain, I don't think either one of them is sick but something's not rignt. I haven't seen them mating, they aren't fighting, but could she be ready to lay eggs? They are about 4 months old or so. I am so worried!!!!!

What about other treats does she eat them? It could be many things as Amiga said but if they aren't acting sick that would be hard to diagnose other than blood work.If you haven't seen mating then I don't know if she is getting ready to lay but maybe, I don't have Mallard derived ducks and with my Scovy's mating comes before egg laying. Keep an eye on them today and let us know what you observe. They go through so many changes when maturing this maybe just one of them or there is really something going on. You checked feed for spoilage right and no mold anywhere to be found? What about outside plants?

Yours are about the same age as mine. How hot has it been where you are? When the rain finally let up here and it really started feeling like summer a few weeks ago, all 4 of mine acted a bit different. They suddenly went through far less pellets in a day, but they were still drinking, foraging and happily eating treats. That lasted for about a week and then bam they went back to eating & acting normally.

True heat can work on them I have noticed even with my piggie chickens they will cut back on feed during the real hot days and not lay many eggs either, just trying to survive the miserable heat.

Its not JoJo, its charlie. I'm beyond worried something is terribly wrong. She's not quacking. I have them outside right now, she's just standing by the baby pool, drinking A LOT of water, she sticks her beak in food but doesn't eat anything, she walked away from the pool for a moment and I could tell she's moving slower. I don't think she's pooing at all. I saw her poo or whatever maybe once but from where I was standing it looked white. She's still wagging her little tail which she always does. I'm so scared. I don't want her to die. I'll try finding a vet but I really don't think I can do that. I have an 19 month old and a baby on the way. Only one of us are working. Why is this happening?

And there is no mating going on at all? Will she eat any treats and can you pick her up that way you can get an over all feel of she has lost weight they can hide alot under those feathers.

Yea. I'll go take a pic. When I pick her up, she kicks her legs like she's trying to get away. I worry I'm hurting her somehow but, she quacks and seems fine when I hold her. She looks normal, that's why I didn't think she was sick at first yet I know something's wrong. But maybe if I take a pic, you can see something I can't. I put them back inside. My dh said she was sitting in her water dish, like I said she's been continuously drinking water. I'm wondering if she's blocked up, obviously she's not going the bathroom so that's why she won't eat and is moving slower and it hurts when I pick her up but all food treats veggies, everything is the same as always. They are in the backyard during the day so nothing out of the ordinary. Brb with a pic!
