Hi hello fellow fowl enthusiasts
So I’m new to raising ducks and have two at the moment but one of them seems to be panting a lot while inside the house Theyre not inside all the time but just from 7am-9am i like bringing them inside to watch tv with me and gunther has just been panting a lot and it’s not even that hot around where I live and Im scared he’s sick but don’t have any money to go to the vet at the moment Im just a college student so I don’t have as much income as a regular person and was wondering if anyone could have any advice as to why this is happening and what I can do to help or is this normal behavior :/ water and food are accessible always to him and it seems to happen more often in the house but once I take him outside and put him in the pool he gets better .The house is around 70 degrees for the most part and never that hot . if anyone could please help hes honestly the one I’m closest to out of the two and I’m just so worried it’s something serious

Ducks also pant when they’re stressed—is it possible Gunther doesn’t actually like being inside the house?

It shouldn't be the temperature. I'm new to ducks too. I wonder if he's just stressed. Dogs pant when they are stressed. Are you spending time with them outside too? If he's not used to inside the lights and sounds of TV might freak him out. What if you just read to him? LOL Crazy, I know but my daughter has already said we should read to our ducks ;)

But I have caught him doing it while outside so that’s why I was also worried
