Sounds like they are in good shape, then. Sometimes I don't know or cannot recall if the 'lings have had time outside in the soil.Thanks for the tip, Amiga. I hadn't thought of that. I don't want to cause them any discomfort. I read that if chickens have real, actual dirt in their run (instead of some sort of wood shaving, etc.) they don't need grit because they can get it from the dirt. Is this the same for ducks, Amiga? My run is dirt (and whatever plants they haven't destroyed yet) and my ducks often have a case of black mouth from eating the dirt.
