I have what I think is a Peking duck, and a mixed Cayuga, they are 4 1/2 weeks old, I just adore them, my Peking looks like it has to grow into it's neck, they eat like pigs, I make sure they get greens, oats and bananas, watermelon, even scrambled eggs, all fruits and even dog food, meal worms, and grand kids dig earth worms with them, they also forge all day, am I doing anything wrong?

Thank you so much for the timeline & pics. I brought home 1 Pekin (Mabel) & 1 Welsh Harlequin (Emmie) early last month, March 7th. I've been noticing how much bigger my pekin is than everyone else's pics by age, as well as how she started sitting alot more, not walking around as much. I brought her to the vet but she had no sign if illness, bumblefoot, distress, etc..... SO...... I started doing research. I wanted to make sure I wasnt over feeding or doing anything wrong. I, also, Know she was tiny, correct size, & only 2days old when I brought her home so I knew the age was accurate. But I've come to believe that my girl is a Jumbo Pekin. I had never heard of them, nor did Ace Farmers & Builders (where I got her from). I did Not get my babies for "on the table" reasons so it makes me sad to see that they have alot of trouble with their legs because they were originally bred to have the largest bodies possible. I'm hoping & praying that I can give her the correct vitamins, extra calcium, etc. to help her grow strong, able legs. I will also adjust anything I can in our home & yard to help walking & getting in & out of things easier for her, if need be. Does anyone have any knowledge about Jumbo Pekins? I love my girl so much & want her to have a happy & healthy, wonderful life. If there is anything I can do to help her along the way or anything different I can give her to help grow stronger legs.... I'd love to know. How do I give her extra calcium (how much, how often)?? Thanks again. Have a great day!!

I was amazed at how fast pekins grow. These two were my first ducks, and every week I was blown away by how big they got!

Ok....I see a difference in yours. Are they both the same age? Both girls?? Did you get both from the same place/same day? (Hatched together?) Thanks
They were the same age. I got the at TSC last year when they were about 3 days old. They will be one on the 12th. The one in the front is my male, and the one in the back is female. She was always a little smaller than him, but at the same time he got most of the treats so he’s a little on the chunky side haha. Unfortunately, my girl passed the beginning of this year, but my boy is still going strong!
