Pekin hatching problem

Yes. He is holding his head up real well. Now he just needs to learn to eat. I have him with the other runt ( black and white) and a gray/tan chick. Both Pekin and a tan with white duck( do not know breed, was told she was 1/2 dusty) mix. He did drink with the others but has not tried to eat.

Great progress!!!

Do I need to add the niacin or Brewers yeast with the poly vi sol? There is a health store 1.5 hours away in Monroe, La. Have nothing but time and want to do watch is best. Will it hurt to give the other 6 ducklings the poly vi sol?
What can you get close by "plain" niacin or brewers yeast? I see those pics and can't tell you how awesome it is to see little one doing so much better. I'd just wrap the lil one loosely in a small towel and put the poly vi sol right inside the bill never force anything down the throat. It tastes awful from what everyone say. What does it say on the bottle about niacin content or B vitamin content.[poly vi sol] you maybe able to wait a bit on the niacin. don't want to over dose him either. The others if they are doing good and no issues I'd just give reg vits like save a chick or Nutri drench in their water .

That little one is a fighter

The poly vi sol has 8mg per 1ml niacin and .4 mg vit B6, and 2 mcg vit B12. So if I'm only giving 2 drops twice a day, that's not much. But he does seem so much better. Only 1 (the black an white) is a little weaker than the others. Been giving him the PolyViSol also. Again, Thank you for the help. You all have wonderful advice

Miss Lydia, do you live anywhere around Ashville or Maggie Valley. We drove the last May to see the Wheels Thru Time motorcycle museum. It was awsome country

This is their feed. I used the same raising the ducklings last year. Do not have much choice around here, only this and medicated chick starter.

BUT I understood you. Thanks

If you can get the niacin or brewer's yeast, I don't think the poly vi sol is needed as much, since all are sources of extra vitamins.

It's formulated for a baby who weighs much more than a duckling that is why very tiny amt and look already making such great progress. How is the Blk and White one doing ? Feed looks good. Protein is high so after a few weeks you'll want to cut the protein, you can add Oatmeal ground reg not instant. that will help get the protein down so you won't have to deal with angel wing. also you can start adding chopped fine romaine lettuce to [along with grit] to drop the protein level after a few weeks. I fed Purina Flock raiser to all my hatchlings and have never had a problem with angel wing it 20% protein but mamas always had them out on the ground very young too. Maybe wait a while on adding the niacin or brewers yeast hopefully by next week you can drop the poly vi sol and go to poultry vitamins. then you can start the BY or niacin they need the B3 till at least 10 weeks old.

Lets see if @Lacrystol is here she has used Poly Vi Sol with new hatchlings maybe she can weigh in on how long to give it. I've always used Poultry Nutri Drench and Brewers yeast but I haven't had to deal with this yet.
