Pekin hatching problem

Ok, the problems continue. Since he was removed from shell. Loose in bator. He just curls up with head back under wing. ( See pic 1)I tried putting a collar on him to keep neck straight. ( pic 2). He just fights that on his back (pic 3). So wrapped him in paper towel and put him in cup (pic 4). I'm out of ideas. Maybe just time to retrain muscles or brain problems?

This duckling is crested which can mean some will have neurological problems I'd get him some B complex vitamins in dropper form so you can give right in the mouth a couple drops 2X a day. It can be treated but has to be done as fast as possible,Or get Poly vi sol with out iron and use same amount.

Thank you Miss Lydia. I have some PolyViSol with iron. Will start that. I tried this morning to find niacin or Brewers yeast but we are in the boonies and our stores do not carry them ( Walmart or Walgreens). They had time release niacin but that was all.

I buy my niacin at WinCo for $2.50 or so. 100mg tabs that I cut and grind to a powder. Do you have a WinCo Store where you live.
Your crested pekin is beautiful. so sorry you are having troubles w/him/her. I know how you are feeling. helpless, concerned, frantic especially since your stores are so far away. You can only do what you can do at this point. You are getting so much amazing help.

@Sarkchick - PolyViSol withOUT iron is what is considered safe.

All, I am wondering if their Walmart has this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nutritional-Yeast-Seasoning-Bragg-4.5-oz-Flake/30291183 if it should work,

All I can add is that being assisted, you should expect a full day for recovery... get vites in as much as you can and just let him rest, I use Nutridrench, but I know others prefer PolyViSol w/out Iron...

As for being crested, I am no help, sorry... it could be exhaustion and cramped from the shell, but with that it could be neurological... I've never dealt with crested, so on that I have to bow out...

Until you can find Niacin though, I would give vites... or sav a chik even... anything to boost his energy and strength...
