Before you pack wouldn't you apply some antibiotic ointment [without pain] on the gauze ? Just wondering if that would keep the gauze from sticking.

I haven't any experience with administering meds by injection. I have asked @casportpony to respond if she is on she is experienced with meds.

Yes. We have antibiotic ointment we're putting on the gauze. Starting wound care now... we'll let you know how she does overnight.

Does the wound breach he abdominal cavity? If so, she needs to be seen by a veterinarian ASAP. Not sure that Tylan is the right drug for this, but I'm not a vet, so who knows. What I know about Tylan is that is needs to be given no less than twice a day. By injection can cause injection site necrosis, so I would give orally instead. Tylan 50 dose I would use is 0.5 ml per pound twice a day.
