Pellet Gun for predators??

Why in the world would someone try to kill anything with a pellet gun???
A pellet gun should be use to teach young people proper handling of a gun with target practice...the target being paper or cardboard.

A previous post said it best....SHOTGUN....in that moment of pulling the trigger, it's nice to know that my margin of error has 210 pellets rushing towards the dead raccoon....Quick Kill....you never want to wound an animal, if your man enough to point the gun, you should be responsible enough to be using a weapon that will do the job the first shot....a 22.., will kill but your margin to hit the animal is less.

Redhen, the best way. Set a live trap with chicken parts. then kill it. Just caught a mink that way last month. Live traps work better than a gun. its their 24/7. I use both live traps and guns.

why cant you kill anything with a high powered pellet gun?? (MANY on here say you can....unless YOU know it all, maybe...

..) after its trapped and you can get a clean head shot??....i dont want a shot gun in my house..is THAT okay with you?? i have foster childern... and umm...i'm not a man.(last time i checked...)..

...AND..i would never make an animal suffer...think before you accuse me of things...i'm not the one...okay?

I can peg a squirrel between his beady little eyes at 30 yards, and the pellet will exit the back of his skull.

I'm talking about a serious pellet rifle, not some kids toy.​

Air powered pellet guns can do some good damage IF you have a good one. Meaning no daisy red rider. My little brother is a good shot and took down two full grown adult coons, with a single shot each between the eyes, from 30 yards or so from the side of the house, on the first shot each. I think he was using a break barrel .22 to get the job done. They just got hit and collapsed right where they were standing. Great to shoot if you live in the middle of the city (I'm on acreage in the city) and shooting one of the fire powered guns would get the cops to your door ASAP.

Red Hen you sound mad, sorry to offend you..........not all answers to a post fit every situation....it was my opinion.... and yes I'm aware that there are high DOLLAR pellet guns for target practice that can hit the eye of the fly at 100 feet...not to many people have them however. I just want to shot once and do the job....now if the dang animal is in the trap,,,,my luck is it would still take me 9 shots to hit it with my 22 pistol....thus use the shot gun, just my opinion....perhaps we all should chill out and have a group hug!

....i WAS upset...because it seemed that you were implying that i would let an animal suffer...and, if you knew me..its the absolute last thing i would do!....even if i DO hate the slimy little weasel...
